Learn More About Hair Transplantation

Direct Hair Implantation (DHI)

Many people struggle with hair loss or baldness when they get older. However, aging is not the only cause of problems such as hair loss and baldness. There may be other reasons that cause hair loss and baldness, such as stress, radiation therapy, and diseases. However, hair loss, hair thinning, or baldness are not problems without treatment. In cosmetic treatment, there are treatment methods that you can achieve your old appearance or the look you dream of. Follicular Unit Transplantation (FUT), Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE), and Direct Hair Transplantation (DHI) are the most preferred methods.

Direct hair implantation (DHI) is one of the technological and the most preferred technique used in hair transplantation. Actually, all hair transplantation techniques are done in the same way. There are a few differences between FUT, FUE, and DHI.

In the FUT method, a surgeon cuts a strip of hair from the back of your scalp and extract hair follicles. On the other hand, in the FUE method, a surgeon removes hair follicles directly from your scalp. When you look at the transplanting phase, both surgeries are done in the same way.

DHI is almost the same procedure as the FUE method. A surgeon removes hair follicles directly from your scalp and transplants them to the bald area. But, DHI differs from FUE in terms of using tools during surgery. In the FUE method, a surgeon makes small incisions by herself/himself to implant hair follicles. In the DHI method, on the other hand, a surgeon uses a pen-like device, and it makes small incisions and transplant each hair follicles at the same time.

All in all, if you are considering a hair transplant, you should see a doctor decide which technique is better for you. If you want to learn more, you can keep reading our blog, or you can contact us by filling out the form.
