Is FUE Permanent?

If you have a baldness problem, you probably heard about the Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE) hair transplant method. The FUE method has the highest success rate among the hair transplantation methods and also the FUE is the most preferred method among the hair transplantation methods. But most of the people who have baldness problem may wonder the FUE method results are permanent or what? In this article, we are goıing to answer this question.

Basically, the FUE – Follicular Unit Extraction method work on an individual hair basis. Each hair, which is taken from the back of the scalp, is elicited as a whole unit and transplanted to the recipient area. You can read more about FUE in our blog. In the FUE hair transplantation method, you should give time to your skin for the healing section and this can take 6 to 12 months. But when healing is done, transplanted follicles begin to grow. So, it is a time taking process but is it permanent?

We can say that yes it is permanent. The growth of hair follicles is stable. There is no way to back hair follicles from their previous position. But like the rest of your hair follicles, the transplanted ones have a lifespan. At some point, they may gradually stop producing as much hair as they used to.

Bottom line is, Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE) hair transplant method is permanent but like healthy hair follicles, they have a lifetime.
